Cindy Marleen Garner passed away at the age 75 on Saturday evening, September 7, 2024 in Denison, Texas, after a long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family at the time of her passing.

Cindy was born on Monday, July 18, 1949 to James “Jim” and Ruth (Beach) Brown, in Renton, Washington. She grew up in Colbert, Oklahoma with her older sister, Marilyn, and younger brother, Lauren. She graduated from Colbert High School in 1967.

Cindy met Boyd Garner on a blind date set up by his soon-to-be sister-in-law, Bula Neal. Cindy and Boyd married on Saturday, September 13, 1969, in Bells, Texas at Antioch Baptist Church. They have lived in Bells since 1972.

Their son, Brad was born in September 1971. Their daughter, Gina was born in November 1973.

Cindy lived the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance; while serving as a wife, mother, grandmother, babysitter, factory worker, antique shop owner, and teacher’s aide. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church.

She is proceeded in death by her grandparents: Powell Young Brown (1884-1954) with his wife, Jennie Lou Kepler (1893-1973); and Charles E. Beach (1876-1942) with his wife, Zella Jane Henry (1889-1958). Her parents: James Otho Brown (1923-1988) with his wife, Ruth Marie Beach (1926-2017). She is survived by her husband, Boyd; her son, Brad with his wife Stefanie in Sherman, Texas; her daughter Gina with her husband Chris Cooper in Bells, Texas. Her grandchildren: Ethan Cooper, Ben Garner, Natalie Garner, Sarah Cooper, Matthew Garner, Hannah Cooper and Timothy Garner; all born between 2002 and 2009. She is survived by her sister Marilyn with her husband “Johnny” in Denison, Texas; and her brother Lauren with his wife Emma in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Until the end of her life here on earth, Cindy did not complain. She did not fret. She did not dishonor. She did not waiver in her faith. When it was finally others helping her, she was not embarrassed. She met everyone with gladness in her heart.
