October 6, 1924 –  September 15, 2015 Edith Dotson Mynatt passed from this life September 15, 2015 at Winters Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Garland, Texas at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 9 days. The family will receive friends Friday night from 7-9 p.m. at the Mullican-Little Funeral Home in Bells, Texas. The funeral services will be Saturday, at 10:30 at the Bells Church of Christ in Bells with Mr. Howard Horton and Mr. Charles Wrenn officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Bells. Those serving as Pallbearers are: Larry Billner, Jim Billner, Bob Darwin, Rod Earnheart, Olin Carney and Richard Logue.
Edith was born October 6, 1924 in Denison, Texas, graduated from Denison High School in 1941 and then attended Draughons Business College in Denison. She was the first- born child of Richard Roy Dotson and Eddie Mae (Parr) Dotson. Edith had three brothers, Richard, Ben and Tommie and one sister, Dollie. On May 31, 1942 Edith married Wallace Ellsworth Mynatt in Durant Oklahoma. During Wallace’s service in World War II, Edith worked at Kraft Foods and the Army Corps of Engineers. After the war, Edith and Wallace moved to Abilene where they attended Abilene Christian College. Wallace received his degree in Bible and became a Church of Christ minister. For the next 45 years, Edith served alongside Wallace in Churches of Christ in Texas and Massachusetts including Bells, Whitewright and Wolfe City in this area. Edith was an exemplary preacher’s wife, teaching children’s Bible classes, ladies’ Bible classes, helping produce the church bulletin, and whatever was needed to support Wallace and the work of the church. Edith was loved by all who knew her. Her sweet disposition and servant heart was an asset to each church where Wallace served as a minister.

After Wallace’s retirement in 1995, Edith and Wallace continued to live and worship in Bells, Texas. Edith and Wallace relocated to the Dallas area in August of 2005.

Edith is survived by her two loving sons and their wives, Wallace Edward Mynatt and Patricia of Commerce and Richard Mynatt and Beth of Rowlett. Other family members include five grandchildren: John Wallace Mynatt and wife Donna of Grand Prairie, Kelly Mynatt Seufert and husband Mike of Richardson, Jennifer Mynatt Bolin and husband Jarrod of Irving, Brian and Alan Mynatt of Commerce. Edith was blessed with five great grandchildren, Cade and Ben Mynatt, Jack and Sam Bolin and Rose Seufert. Edith is also survived by her sister Dollie Dotson Bates of Menifee, California and brother Tommie Dotson and wife Carolyn of Whitewright as well as many special nieces and nephews.

Preceding Edith in death were her parents, Richard and Eddie Mae Dotson, her husband of 64 years Wallace Ellsworth Mynatt and her brothers Richard and Ben Dotson.
