June 30, 1937 – January 21, 2010 Funeral services for Edwin “Wayne” Ooten age 72, will be held Monday, January 25, at 2:00 P.M. at Mullican- Little Chapel, Savoy, Texas. Rev. Houston Garner of Hebron Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Carson Cemetary, Ector, Texas He passd away Thursday, January 21st in Sherman.Edwin was born June 30, 1937 to Edwin Wrenn and Nina L. Ooten. He married Barbara Bellows on May 19, 1972 and they had one son, Kevin.
He attended Sherman schools and graduated from University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in Business Administration. He served eight years in the United States Air Force and worked 20 years at Texas Instruments. He also owned a Repmasters Business for several years. For the past 12 years he owned and operated “OO Smokehouse” with his son, Kevin.
He loved to cook, fish and hunt and to play the keyboard almost daily. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
He is survived by his wife and son, Kevin; five brothers and sisters: Donnie Ooten and wife Joyce of Sherman, Larry Ooten and wife Ann of Cartright, Oklahoma, Gerald Ooten and wife Onieta of Callisburg, Texas, Peggy Dagenais and husband Ray of Sherman, Shirley Woodson of Sherman, and mother-in-law, Mary Bellows of Sherman.
Pallbearers will be: Kenneth Holmes, Jr., Jeremy Holmes, Michael Dagenais, Duke Paulsen, Scott Paulsen, Travis Bellows.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00-3:00 P.M. at Mullican-Little Funeral Home.
