Ernest Anthony Crossman “Mr. Ernie” of Savoy, Texas, passed away on March 14, 2022 in Denison, Texas.  He was born in New York City on May 27, 1943, the eldest of four children to Ernest Crossman and Michelina Falciano.

When he was young, Ernie was an altar boy and studied to be a priest. In his teen years he decided to serve his country in the military. Ernie was active in the Air Force for several years and returned home in 1966.  Eventually he went into the agriculture business and ended up in Texas.  Ernie loved his family and adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He also loved all the kids that came out to the pumpkin patch and the Nights of the Haunted Forest.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, working in the garden, and Friday night drinks on the deck.

Ernie was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Crossman; their son, John Phillip; his parents, Ernest and Michelina Crossman; and his sister, Susan Selby.

He is survived by his sisters, Josephine Harvey and husband Bob of Danbury, Connecticut; Maggie O’Conner and husband Thom of Ringtown, Pennsylvania; sons, Ernie Crossman, Jr. of Denison, and James Crossman of Savoy; daughters, Linda Colclasure of Sherman, and Darlene Lemons and husband Bryan of Era; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Mullican Little Funeral Home, 754 State Hwy 56 E., Bells, Texas 75414. A celebration of life will be held at his house following the memorial.

    My brother was a leader in business, a fun employer, a hardworking businessman who cared about our farmers and lived with alot of love in his heart.

    So glad I got to meet Grandpa Ernest and share quality time with him and Barbara. He treated me like a granddaughter when I moved to Texas and I am very grateful for him and Barbara.

    Your service was beautiful and I know you and Barb and others were there with us. It feels strange to not have you there to phone. I am so glad you are my Big Bro and I have my TX family to embrace. I feel your happiness and I know you feel all of our love. RIP my Big Bro. Miss you. Your life was well lived and thank you for my memories!

    Earnie was one of my older cousins. He hung out with my deceased sister JoAnn and cousin Alfred. He was always so nice to me. I loved him! He loved Putnam Lake and fishing.
    Earnie you are missed! Rest In Peace dear cousin! Give our parents and my sister my Love and Light!
