Ernest Anthony Crossman “Mr. Ernie” of Savoy, Texas, passed away on March 14, 2022 in Denison, Texas.  He was born in New York City on May 27, 1943, the eldest of four children to Ernest Crossman and Michelina Falciano.

When he was young, Ernie was an altar boy and studied to be a priest. In his teen years he decided to serve his country in the military. Ernie was active in the Air Force for several years and returned home in 1966.  Eventually he went into the agriculture business and ended up in Texas.  Ernie loved his family and adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He also loved all the kids that came out to the pumpkin patch and the Nights of the Haunted Forest.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, working in the garden, and Friday night drinks on the deck.

Ernie was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Crossman; their son, John Phillip; his parents, Ernest and Michelina Crossman; and his sister, Susan Selby.

He is survived by his sisters, Josephine Harvey and husband Bob of Danbury, Connecticut; Maggie O’Conner and husband Thom of Ringtown, Pennsylvania; sons, Ernie Crossman, Jr. of Denison, and James Crossman of Savoy; daughters, Linda Colclasure of Sherman, and Darlene Lemons and husband Bryan of Era; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Mullican Little Funeral Home, 754 State Hwy 56 E., Bells, Texas 75414. A celebration of life will be held at his house following the memorial.
