Frankie Lee Martin passed away peacefully in Sherman, Texas on April 29, 2021 at the age of 82. He was born in Sherman, Texas to Ernest Lee Martin and Ona Mozelle (Miller) on September 24, 1938.

Frank served in the United States Air Force during which time he was stationed in London, Scotland and Sidi Slimane, French Morocco, North Africa.  During his time in the Air Force Frank met and kept in touch with his fellow serviceman and lifelong friend Steve Gerush with whom he was stationed in Scotland and French Morocco. Once stationed back in the United States at Altus Air Force Base, Frank met and fell in love with his future wife Jean. They were blessed with two daughters, LeeAnn and Vicki Lynn.

In his spare time Frank was an avid softball player for Johns Manville and pitched several scoreless innings, and made game winning runs. He was listed in several newspaper articles for his ball playing skills. Frank and his family spent several years traveling throughout the United States and if you knew Frank at all, then you knew that he never needed a map to get from one point to the other as he was GPS before GPS was invented.

After Frank’s time in the service, he worked for MKT / Union Pacific railroad and retired after a lifelong career in the claims department.  Frank was a faithful member and served as Treasurer for many years at Dixie Baptist Church. Frank and his wife Jean loved to socialize and get together with family and friends. In fact, Frank had two childhood friends, John D. Hethcox and Don Wyatt, which they met with for breakfast and social occasions as often as they could.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife Jean Martin; parents, Ernest Martin and Mozelle Smith; stepfather Rev. Carl Smith; Grandmother Emma Lee Miller; son Billy Gene Martin; son in law Billy Montgomery; and step sister Linda Owens.

He is survived by his daughters, LeeAnn Montgomery and husband Shawn, Vicki Binkley and husband Kenneth all of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Amanda Geist and husband Brian of Sherman, Kristi Frith and husband Albert, Joshua Binkley and fiancé GerryAnne Umpierre all of Oklahoma City, Christopher Binkley and wife Jillian of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Rochelle Binkley of Wilmington, North Carolina, Jahshua Binkley of El Paso, Texas, Valerie Jones of North Port, Florida; great-grandchildren, Dakota Golden, Makenzie Williams, Dustin Frith, Stryder Binkley, Miranda Binkley, plus ten bonus great grandchildren;  and sisters Barbara Cassidy and husband Tommy of Denison, Brenda Gates and husband Bill of Sherman, Joy Marlow and husband Nick of Stillwater OK; stepbrother Gary Murphy of Hampton, NH; along with numerous extended family.
