December 4, 1945 –  October 13, 2016 Graveside services for Garry Russell, 70 year-old Savoy resident, are set for 10 A.M., Monday, October 17, 2016 at Carson Cemetery in Ector, Texas. The Reverends Chris Merritt and Bill Sessom will conduct the service. Garry passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Stonebrook Assisted Living in Denison after a short battle with cancer. He was born December 4, 1945 in Gainesville, to parents, Paul Victor Russell and Bertie Ladell (Parsons) Russell. He married Ambrosia “Butch” Barron September 1, 1972 in Savoy, Texas. He was a Baptist.
Garry attended Camden Military Academy in Camden, South Carolina and graduated from Oklahoma Military Academy in Claremore, Oklahoma. Garry was a man who loved his family, his job, camping and driving his old cars. Garry was a dedicated truck driver for 49 years. He was proud that he had driven 4 million miles without an accident. Those miles took him through 48 states and parts of Canada.

Garry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Don Russell and Bobby Russell; and sister, Pauletta Barron. He is survived by his wife, Butch of Savoy, two sons, Jeff of Sherman and Donald & wife Ellen of Sherman; daughter, Julie of Tom Bean; twin brother, Larry Russell of Michoocan, Mexico; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many friends.
