Gary Wayne Klose, 72, of Savoy, Texas passed away peacefully at his residence on December 29, 2020.  Gary was born on November 30, 1948 in Lampasas, Texas to Melvin F. Klose, Sr. & Ola Almarine Lewis Klose.

Gary grew up in Lometa, Texas and graduated from high school in 1967.  He participated in FFA and played basketball and track.  Gary graduated in 1972 with a BS in Physical Education from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State) in San Marcos, Texas.  He moved to Savoy in 1976 with his parents.  It was here that he met his wife, Brenda.  They were married on August 11, 1979 and began raising their family in Savoy.

He had a love for his family and for raising cattle.  In 1989, he was selected as Fannin County Farmer of the Year.  He respected the land and the livestock and he had a never give up attitude.  He instilled these qualities into his three children, whether it be through sports, their FFA projects, or life in general.  Gary fulfilled his dream of being a coach by being involved and coaching his kids throughout their youth.  He seldom missed a game of any sort and was one of the biggest supporters of his kids in everything they did.

Gary is survived by his wife, Brenda Klose; daughter, Erin Klose White and husband Jeremy; sons, Reed Klose and Ryan Klose and wife Megan; granddaughters, Marleigh White and Kallie Klose, all of Savoy; sisters, Melba McCullouch of Temple and Dorothy Morrison and husband Larry of Lometa; brothers, M.F. Klose, Jr. and wife Linda of Lometa and David Klose and wife Corine of Fredericksburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held at Fairview Cemetery on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Cody Maxwell officiating.  Kolton Hall will provide special music. Any memorials wished to be made in Gary’s name, can be sent to Fairview Cemetery, c/o Velma Jones, 601 CR 1005, Savoy, Texas 75479.
