September 4, 1938 –  November 1, 2014 Howard Clark Baker was born September 4, 1938 in Stanton, Texas to Louie and Ina Mae Williams Baker. He passed away peacefully Saturday, November 1, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.
On July 1, 1961 Mr. Baker married Laura McLain in Denison, Texas. He was blessed with a loving family that he loved deeply, along with many friends. Howard loved family gatherings, riding horses, camping and those Friday mornings with his Pillsbury buddies. Howard loved to read as a pass time. He was a special person and we surely will miss him.

Howard proudly served in the U.S. Army for 3 years and work at Pillsbury for 25 years. He retired as a Lieutenant after 17 ½ years of service for the Denison Police Department.

Funeral services will be at 2:00PM Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Mullican-Little Funeral Chapel in Bells/Savoy, Texas. Reverend Donnie Haywood of the First United Methodist Church in Tom Bean, Texas will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery.

Mr. Baker is survived by his wife of 53 years Laura Baker, son Louie Marty Baker and his wife Tammy, daughter Tracy Lynn Baker-Garrison and Rick Collett, grandchildren Whitney Dianne Lawson and husband Joe David, Brianna Hope Baker and Jeremy Reynolds, Taylor Morgan Garrison, Haley Ryan Baker and Michael Chance Milligan, Harley RayChelle Baker, Jeffrey Tanner Garrison, Brian Martin Baker, great grandchildren Hagen Clark Lawson and Audrie Kay Milligan, and brother L. A. Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Brian Edward Baker, brother LeRoy Baker, and sister Barbara Ledbetter.

Pallbearers will be Marty Baker, Joe David Lawson, Tony McLain, Jeremy Reynolds, Chance Milligan, Mark McLain, Ricky Collett and Tanner Garrison. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Baker and Hagen Lawson.

The family of Howard Clark Baker will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Mullican-Little Funeral Home.
