James Dale Barnes, age 61, of Whitewright passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Denison Nursing & Rehab in Denison, Texas.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 2pm at Mullican-Little Funeral Home in Bells, Texas. Officiating the service will be Jerryd Wallace, Chaplain with Home Hospice. There will be a family visitation on Monday, February 4, 2013 from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Davin Campbell, Cody Lucas, Kyle Terry, Mark Johnson, David Norris and Barry Tredway. Honorary pallbearers will be Duane Johnson and Billy Martin.

Dale was born on February 23, 1951 to parents, James Wayland Barnes and Nina Hood Barnes. He attended school in Whitewright, Texas and graduated in 1969. He attended Grayson County Junior College and obtained an Associate’s degree. He went on to attend East Texas State University and graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering. Dale received the Lord into his heart at a young age and was a Baptist by faith. Dale spent 4 years in the United States navy as a Seabee.

Dale learned the construction trade at a young age when he began building houses with his father. He designed and built his first home at the age of 18. Dale made many life-long friends throughout the United States during his career in the construction business.

Dale is survived by his loving mother, Nina Barnes of The Renaissance in Sherman and formerly a life long resident of Whitewright, Texas. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Mark Johnson of Honey Grove, Texas. He has one daughter, Mandie Michelle McKissick of McKinney, Texas. He is also survived by many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
