Jeanette Rye Weatherby was born on May 29, 1932 at Amarillo, Texas to Carl E. Rye and Virginia Eudora McCullough Rye. She married James Robert “Jimmy” Weatherby on March 11, 1955 in Arlington, Texas. She passed away on November 5, 2019 at Paris Regional Medical Center, Paris, Texas.

Jeanette was raised in Arlington where she graduated in high school. In her younger years she was a profession bull rider, barrel racer, roper and rodeo clown. She appeared in numerous rodeos across the country and at Madison Square Garden in the 1950’s. She loved her race horses, dogs and other animals. She was a long time cattle rancher. She was an all around cowgirl. She was a lifetime member of the NRA and was active in Cowboy Competition Shooters. She was a lifelong Baptist.

She is survived by her son, Robert Andrew “Andy” Weatherby of Ivanhoe; grandchildren, Ashley Bassette and David Weatherby; great-grandchildren, Aaron and Ethan Bassette; cousins, Johnny F. Jinks, Nelda Dean Shriver, Christine Wiseman, and Betty Kay Beavers; special friends and caregivers, Scott Dickerson and wife Janet, and their children Brandona and Brook. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmy; and daughter-in-law, Vickie Lynn Weatherby; step-father, Tom Thompkins.

Graveside Services will be held 11AM Friday, November 8, 2019 at Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington, Texas. A visitation will be held Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 6-8PM at Mullican-Little Funeral Chapel, Bells, Texas.
