Jimmy Lee Reynolds Jr. age 66 of Savoy, Texas took his heavenly flight Saturday, December 10, 2022, surrounded by his family. For 52 years Jimmy lived in an earthly body paralyzed from an accident at age 14, but lived with a hope and faith that he would walk again. With every reason to be bitter with life, Jim lived a happy life filled with love and laughter. He had a love for all people and an infectious smile that would steal your heart. He couldn’t speak a word, but would convey his affection and love by kissing the hands of those closest to him and had a firm handshake for those guys that was courageous enough to place their hand in his. Jimmy Lee was always up for a game of dominoes and received great delight when he blocked your next play and he made count. He did like to win (at all costs).  Even in the last few years, when challenges presented themselves more frequently, he still had a little ornery streak and a mischievous glint in his eye that would win the hearts of those in his presence.  To know him was to love him.

Jimmy was born on April 30, 1956, in Bonham, Texas to the late Jimmy Lee Reynolds Sr. and Melba Joyce (Madison) Reynolds. He grew up in Savoy and in spite of his disability graduated from Savoy High School through homebound studies. Jimmy Lee gave his life to Christ in July 1965 at the age of 9 and was a lifelong member of the Savoy First Baptist Church. Today he walks again upright on the streets of glory in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Lee Reynolds Sr., grandparents Preston and Dale Madison, Buster and Mildred Reynolds, brother Jerry Don Reynolds and sister Jennifer Joyce Lewis.

Jimmy is survived by his mother, Melba Joyce Reynolds of Savoy, sister Cathy Rhudy and husband Kenneth of Ector, brother Jackie Reynolds and wife Sherry of Savoy, brother-in-law Terry Lewis and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at 1 p.m. 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm at Savoy First Baptist Church, 207 S. Ashford Street Savoy, Texas 75479. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery.  Services will be officiated by Pastor Chris Merritt and Brother Bill Sessom. Serving as pallbearers are Terry Don Lewis, Justin Rhudy, Shane Ball, Taylor Dunlap, Matt Lewis and James Laisy.  Honorary Pallbearers are James Dodson, Andy Hartline, Paul Merworth, Gary Stone and Jack Vest.

The family expresses their appreciation to the medical professionals at Texoma Medical Center in Denison who cared for Jim this past week and those at Mullican Care Center of Savoy who have loved and cared for him through these last years of his life.
