Joe Frank Robinson of Pottsboro Texas passed away on January 15, 2022 at the age of 92. Mr. Robinson was born on August 29, 1929 to Mary and Clyde Robinson in Trenton, Texas. He married Anna Bess Neathery on November 26, 1949, to whom he was married to for 66 years before she passed away in June of 2015.

Joe started life as a farmer but quickly realized that he would never be the farmer that his dad was. While farming Joe was mentored by an electrician that he swears worked all his life with one hammer, one screwdriver and one pair of pliers. Joe eventually obtained his Journeyman electrician license and ended up working for Texas Instruments as an electrician and general handyman until he retired in 1991. Following retirement, he continued to work for many years doing handyman jobs for friends and neighbors as well as remodeling and reselling houses before “flipping” became a fad. Neighbors in their Lake Texoma neighborhood agree that there is probably not a home in Texoma Estates that Joe has not worked on in some capacity. His family always said that there was nothing that dad could not fix so long as he had a tube of caulking. His children always teased him that they were going to caulk his casket shut before they buried him.

Joe and Anna lived most of their married life in Whitewright in the old 17 room Gillett home that they purchased and restored room by room over the years. In 1982, they sold that home and bought a home on Lake Texoma with a beautiful view of the lake. There were hundreds of get-togethers at this home and on their boat dock for family and friends through the years. Joe always said the best decision he ever made was to buy the lake house and boat. Anna always reminded him that decision was made by her, not him.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife Anna, parents Clyde and Mary, brother Reed Robinson, sisters Joyce Hames and Johnnie Starnes, brothers-in-law Keith Starnes, Albert Hames, Maurice Neathery and Byron Neathery, sisters-in-law Mattie Louise Heed, Marjorie Grimes, Charlene Neathery, and Brynda Clay.

He is survived by his daughter Joanna Barnes and her husband Dennis of Pottsboro whom he had lived with for the past six years, daughter Kim McWhorter and her husband Phillip of Denison, son Steve Robinson and his wife Cheryl of Sherman, grandsons Brian Robinson (wife Christy), Daniel Barnes (wife Stephanie), Casey Barnes (finance Erika),
granddaughters Amanda Robinson, Kayla Chambers (husband Jacob), Deanna Barnes (husband Adam), and thirteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother-in-law Jackie Neathery (wife Ethel) and sisters-in-law Lois Neathery, Jane Bearden (husband John), June Washburn (husband Ken) and Lynda Knorpp (husband Jim) and numerous nieces and nephews.

In consideration and concern regarding the spread of COVID, the family has decided to have a graveside service for family only at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Pilot Grove Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held in the spring or early summer near Lake Texoma where Joe loved to meet and celebrate with family and friends. The body will be available for viewing during business hours at Mullican-Little Funeral home until the funeral on Friday.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that you donate to your favorite charity or consider a donation to the Pilot Grove cemetery association. Donations for Pilot Grove cemetery may be mailed to 1025 Brewer Road, Van Alstyne, Texas, 75495.
