Joyce Lovella (Smith) Mohling, of Bells, Texas passed away on July 3, 2018 at the age of 87. She was born November 25, 1930 to Lambert Smith and Zelma Louise (Huckleberry) Smith in Tahoka, Texas. Joyce married Melvin August Mohling on February 14, 1946 in Matador, Texas. Joyce was mostly a housewife working to raise her children. She then worked for Levi Strauss, and next, Texas Instruments for ten years. Joyce became a member of the Hebron Baptist Church in Bells in 1971 and served 47 years. When she became a member, she joined the ladies’ bible class, and soon became a teacher. Joyce coordinated meals for funerals and other occasions for over twenty years. She had a servants heart and was the Hebron flower girl and made sure flowers were sent from Hebron Baptist for all occasions. Joyce was also a member of the Red Hat Club.
She is survived by her daughters Rebecca Denise Garza of Sherman, Texas and Chanda Christine Gomez of Alabama; granddaughters, Valorie Meyer of Lake Whitney, Texas, Angela Marie McNeil of Denison, Texas, Danielle Rae Mohling of San Francisco, California, and Michaela Compton of Houston, Texas; grandson Jimmy Don Mohling of Lubbock, Texas; ten great grandchildren; brother Dr. Melton Smith and wife Shila of Houston, Texas; sister Barbara Walker and husband Doyle of Lampasas, Texas; many nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sons James Melton Mohling and Donald Gene Mohling.

Visitation will be Monday, July 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., at Mullican Little Funeral Home 754 Hwy 56 East Bells, Texas 75414. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Mullican Little Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery in Bells, Texas.
