Kirby Clayton Warford of Whitewright, Texas, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the age of 73. Kirby was born on September 10, 1944, to William Warford and Ruby (Wade) Warford in Yazoo City, Mississippi.
Kirby proudly served our country in the United States Army from 1965-1967. He had basic training in Fort Polk, Louisiana, Fort Knox, Kentucky, and served in Augsburg, Germany.

He worked for Texas Eastern Pipeline Co., Placid Oil Co., and later Marathon Oil Co., on offshore production platforms as a Number One Production operator for a total of seventeen years. Later, he became a farmer, raising cotton, grains, and cattle for ten years, in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. He later moved to North Texas and established Warford Excavation and Construction Company. After retirement he ranched for another ten years in Grayson, County.

Kirby is survived by his wife of fifty plus years, Janet Warford of Whitewright, Texas; his son Todd Warford and wife Susan of Hallsville, Texas, son Kurt Warford and wife Amber of Whitewright; grandsons, Hunter Warford, and Clayton Warford; granddaughters, Savannah Warford, Lauren Warford, and Catherine Warford; sister Mildred Smart and husband Jim of Hillister, Texas; brother, Gary Warford and wife Patsy of Sarepta, Louisiana; and many extended family members and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.W. and Ruby Warford; sister Anne Crowe; and brother, Jimmy Warford.

Visitation will be Monday, April 9, 2018 at Kentuckytown Baptist Church, 264 Kentuckytown Road, Whitewright, Texas 75491 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m.; Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Kentuckytown Baptist Church. A second visitation will be held at Bailey Funeral Home, 304 First Street NW, Springhill, LA 71075, from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018 with burial immediately following, at Old Sarepta Cemetery, 153 Old Sarepta Church Road, Sarepta, Louisiana 71071.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Warford, Clayton Warford, Branton Warford, Heath Warford, Jeremy Timmons, Tim Smart, Joe Mulae, and David Gill.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the American Heart Association, the National Cancer Society, or the National Kidney Foundation.
