Mack V. Nelms of Ector, Texas born May 21, 1929, passed away January 4, 2019 at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman.

Mack was preceded in death by his parents, Silas and Eva Nelms; wife of 56 years, Hellen Jackson Nelms, wife of 10 years, Georgie Brown Nelms; 3 brothers, James Medford Nelms, Paul Clutter Nelms, and Silas Leonard Nelms; sister, Ruth Nelms.

He is survived by 2 brothers, Pete and Barbara Nelms of Mansfield, Don and Julie Nelms of Ector; 6 children, Toby and Linda Nelms of Weatherford, Audie and Wanda Nelms of Ector, Sheran and Mickey Sweetin of Denison, Dollie and Craig Stark of Savoy, Silas (Bo) and Jan Nelms of Ravenna, Susie Nelms of McKinney; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at Mullican-Little Funeral Home in Bells, Texas. Family visitation on Monday, January 7, 2019 6-8pm. Services to be held Tuesday, January 8, 2019 11:00am with graveside services to follow at Arledge Ridge Cemetery in Bonham, Texas.

    Mack Nelms. He was an example of everything a man should be. A Christian man, honest, loyal, loving, hardworking and funloving. I was so fortunate to have had him as my step dad, and he made my mother feel special every day. Thank you Mack for loving us, and thank you Lord for bringing him into our lives.

    I was saddened to learn about Mack’s passing. Prayers for the Nelm’s family. Mack was gracious enough to let me work with him and Mickey one summer when I was in high school. In that summer, Mack taught me many valuable life lessons and showed me how the best houses were built! Thanks Mack!
