April 24, 1924 –  March 7, 2015 Marie Horn went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 7, 2015. Her children were at her side as she left this earthly life. Marie was born on April 24, 1924 in Savoy, Texas to Irving and Valerie Proctor Miller. She married Thomas Aulton “Pete” Horn on October 15, 1941. Marie was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Savoy, Texas and a homemaker.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Savoy. Reverend Bill Sessom will officiate. Burial will be in the Horn Cemetery.

Marie was a dedicated Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was the type of person that would actually sit down on the floor and engage in play with her grand kids. She loved them all unconditionally; they could do no wrong in her eyes. She was a dedicated Sunday School teacher for more than 20 years of service. Although on some Sundays when she knew she would only have one child in class, she would prepare as though she was expecting 15. She not only taught her Christian beliefs she actually lived by them. She loved serving others. When friends were sick or in need, she would be the first to drop by with a loaf of banana nut bread to put a smile on their face. She enjoyed traveling with friends and it was often said she was “the life of the party”! She always saw the good in everyone she had become associated with and she will be remembered as a woman who truly lived by her faith.

Marie is survived by a son William Archie Horn of Savoy, daughter Tonya Moore and her husband Rick of Dallas and sister Ester Burris of Denison.

Grandchildren: Jeff Horn of Denton, Texas Travis Horn of Ravenna, Texas Colton Horn of Sherman, Texas Amanda Horn of Durant, OK. Payton Moore of Dallas, Texas

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Gary Lynn Horn, brothers Sam Miller and William Miller, sisters Irva Fay Sandlin and Mary Lou Springfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Marie’s name to the First Baptist Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 177, Savoy, Texas 75479.
