Tony Lee Moore was born to Henry Lloyd and Mary Lee (Beene) Moore on June 3, 1934 in Point, Texas as the fourth child of 11 children, born into a hardworking, honest, and loving family of sharecroppers.

He met his wife Virginia, while in Savoy High School but life took them in different directions. Tony graduated from East Texas State College with a Bachelor of Science degree, then embarked upon a 20-year military career in the United States Army. He served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars receiving numerous medals and ribbons, specifically three Purple Heart Medals.

Tony reunited with this high school sweetheart, Virginia Parker Hicks after retiring from the military. They were married on November 14,1992 in Ravenna and he loved her children and grandchildren as his own.

Tony was a dependable, trustworthy, straight forward man. He was an independent man who insisted paying his own way. This tough man had a loving and gentle heart; he especially treasured and loved his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. All of them were given affectionate nicknames such as “Blue Eyes, Rough & Tumble Guy, Sweetie Pie, Princess, C.D. and Soldier Girl.”

Tony will be grievously missed by all who know him.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Mary Moore; his wife, Virginia; brothers, Melvin, Bud, Everett Moore; and sisters, Frankie Osborn, Yvonne McGehee, Ruby Malone, Geneva Hunt, and half-sister Dorothy Ball; along with brother-in-laws, Tom Ford and Elvin Bell.
