Wanda Harris Booth, was born October 18, 1942 to John and Jane Harris in Telephone, Texas. She attended both Telephone and Savoy schools graduating from Savoy High School in 1960. Wanda married Donald Booth on August 6, 1960. Wanda was member of the First Baptist Church of Bells, Texas and a charter member and past Worthy Matron of Bells Eastern Star chapter and served as secretary for twenty years.

Wanda was the first woman to serve as a member of the Bells City Council, serving two terms. She was an avid reader, and also gardener loving all plants and nature and felt closer to God when she was working outside.

Wanda is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Jeff Booth of Bedford and Greg Booth and Mandy Booth of Bells. Wanda had three grandchildren: Haleigh and her husband Vince Monteleone of Denison, Benjamin and his wife Sarah Booth of Granbury and Olivia and her husband Sam Still of Irving. She also had five great grandchildren: Nixon, Beckett and Lennox Monteleone and Wren and Alice Booth. Wanda’s life was her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Wanda was the youngest of seven children. Her father preceded her death when she was three years old. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Don Booth; her mother, Jane Adams; her only brother, John Leeman Harris; and three sisters Jean Magness, Mattie Magness and Reba Fox. She is survived by sisters and brother-in-laws, Dorothy Harris of Bonham, Thelma and Jimmy Estes of McKinney, Don Fox of Telephone. She is also survived by sister-in-law and brother-in-Law, Sarah and Laddie Cunningham of Dallas.

Wanda was one of the first employees at Memorial Hospital of Denison which is now Texoma Medical Center. She also worked for the MKT railroad in Denison and the Texas Department of Criminal in Bonham, retiring from TDCJ in 2007.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday October 6, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Rosehill Cemetery in Bells.
