Imogene Thompson Marshall was born on April 10, 1948 to Oscar Thompson and Linnie (Petty) Thompson in Cartwright, Oklahoma. She was the youngest of five children including four older brothers. She died peacefully at her home in Savoy on April 2, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Imogene married Jackie Marshall in 1964 in Oklahoma. They married in Oklahoma because she was too young to be married in Texas and even then she used her older brother Bobby Thompson’s birth certificate in order to verify her age. From this union came three children.

She was blessed with a wonderful family that extends to four generations. She was especially active in their lives in her younger years and was extremely caring. She never lost touch with them as she grew older and her health diminished.

Imogene loved her flower garden and had an eye for color. She had a sweet tooth and was known to sneak a treat but  she knew better! She was also a huge fan of movies even watching international films with English sub titles. Imogene enjoyed romance novels. It was a huge thrill for her to have her family for Thanksgiving and Christmas. She loved to prepare big meals for those times.

She is survived by her son, Charles Marshall and wife Venetia; daughters, Carol Ballard and Jeneia Harmon; grandchildren, Tamara Reno and husband Russell, Jamie Killian and husband James, Matthew Redd and wife Checole, Jessica Marshall, Calvin Marshall, Nicholas Hollingsworth, Ashley Harville and husband Paul; and seventeen great grandchildren. Cremation arrangements are with Mullican Little Funeral Home.
