Phillip Eugene McKenzie passed away in his home in Savoy, on April 13, 2024 at the age of 62. Phillip was born to Lemax and Mildred (Rhudy) McKenzie on July 12, 1961 in Bonham, Texas as the middle child of three siblings. Phillip was widely known and recognized as a lover of people. He was energized being with people. He had the perfect job working with the public as a stocker for many years for Bonham Walmart and Brookshire’s. Phillip was an ardent Christian and loved to tell people about The Lord. In recent times, he was excited to give away little Jesus figurines. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Savoy. He wanted everyone to know and follow Jesus. Phillip was a storyteller and his favorite stories were told over and over even if his listeners knew the details by heart. He loved his family and doted on his great nephews. He was a prankster, who loved to pull jokes on people. Some of his favorite times included having DJ sessions with Zane and watching Jensen play baseball. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lemax and Mildred McKenzie. He is survived by his brother, Ricky McKenzie and wife Tina; sister, Kathy Miller; brother-in-law, Bryan Miller; niece, Alexandria McKenzie; nephew, Christopher Miller and wife Michelle; great nephews, Zane and Jensen Miller; along with extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held by the family on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church 207 S. Ashford St, Savoy, TX 75479. Cremation arrangements are with Mullican Little Funeral Home.
