Patsy Ann Braswell, of Whitewright, Texas, passed away on November 17, at the age of 88. She was born on July 28, 1937 in Bells, Texas to Melford and Alta Annette McCollough. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who married her best friend and love of her life, Carl Whitt Braswell, on September 28, 1973. Patsy worked for Northland Cable, Meadows International, and Texas New Mexico Power Company. She was a member of Kentuckytown Baptist Church and will be missed dearly by all who knew her. She is survived by son Stephen Braswell and wife Karen of Howe, Texas and son-in-law Steve Shelby and wife Denise of Rockport, Texas; five grandchildren, Scott Shelby, Danielle Frantz, Casey Shelby and wife Kristy, Carlee Hanson and husband Duncan, and Zachariah Braswell; three great grandchildren, Jrake and Kopelee Shelby and Melanie Beal; nephew’s Bobby McCollough and Roger McCollough and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Carla Shelby; and brother, Gene McCollough. Graveside services will be held at Cherry Mound Cemetery 526 Cherry Mound Lane Denison, Texas 75021 at 10:00 am, Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Pallbearers will be Michael Lankford, Scott Shelby, Danielle Frantz, Casey Shelby, Carlee Hansen, Zachariah Braswell and honorary pallbearer, Randy Wilson. In lieu of a family meal the family requests donations be made to Home Hospice Grayson County in Sherman, Texas or online at https://www.homehospice.org/. We would like to thank all the Wesley Village Retirement Home staff and the Home Hospice nurses, social workers, aides, chaplains, administrators and volunteers who took such great care of Patsy over the last few months and during her final days.  We couldn’t have done it without you.

  1. Patsy was a great matriarch for her family and a friend to many of us. She will be missed. She and her late husband Carl, are having a joyful reunion with their much loved daughter Carla.

  3. Patsy was a beautiful Christian lady who loved her husband Carl & her family. She always had that big smile that lit up her face. She loved Jesus and was a faithful follower. I always loved to see her & Carl at church together all those many years.
