Carla Shelby
September 14, 1962 - May 19, 2003 Carla worked in the business office at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX untill her illness. She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Bells, TX., and a graduate of the 1983 class of Whitewright High School.

I met Carla when we both started elementary school. We were in the same class together and I remember her as always being quiet and shy. In my eyes she was always the sweetest prettiest girl in the whole school, but I was always too bashful talk to her and only gave her a quick look and a smile which she always returned. Every day when I went to school I planned to walk up to her and try to form a close friendship with her but somehow I always talked myself out of it. I will always remember that sweet, shy girl that always returned that look and smile. Some day I will make that connection that I always wanted to do as a child. Until then I will always have that place in my heart where I go to from time to time and visit her.
