Mary Laoice Carter

February 6, 1922 -  October 13, 2008 Mary worked for Johnson Telephone Co. in Hedley and Clarendon until giving birth to her only child, Michael, in 1950. That same year her hsuband was hired by Montgomery Ward and the family relocated to Sherman. In 1952, Mary began a long career with Texas Telephone, which became GTE and finally Verizon Communications. She retired after almost 38 years but maintained close relationships with many friends who had emjoyed their years working together.
