November 18, 1929 –  January 26, 2013 Billy Howard Burgess passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Mullican Care Center in Savoy, Texas. He was born November 18, 1929 in Rio Hondo, Texas the son of Charley and Arizona Gibson Burgess. On February 3, 1950 he married Katherine Sue Mangrum in Sebastian, Texas.
Billy worked for Ballenger Construction Co. in San Benito for many years. He was a tractor/heavy equipment mechanic, known as one of the best. In later years he worked for Rio Paving in Harlingen and Bryan, TX. Billy and Katherine moved to Bells in 1990. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Billy is survived by his wife Katherine of the home, son Bobby Burgess of Bells, daughter Cynthia Page and her husband John of Bells, special niece Angel Montgomery of Sherman, 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Captain Billy Burgess, Jr., sisters Inez Dunkin, Jessie Bearden, Dollie Lucas, and Gertha Moore.

Memorial services will be at 10:00AM Thursday, January, 31, 2013 at Mullican-Little Funeral Chapel. Dr. Lowell Howard will officiate.
