September 11, 1941 –  November 23, 2014 Jimmy Duckworth passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at his residence. He was born September 11, 1941 in Dallas, Texas the son of George and Orpha Cain Duckworth. He married Ruth Ann Atteberry on March 23, 1966.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Ruth Ann of the home, son Butch Duckworth and his wife Rhonda of Whitewright, brother Donnie Duckworth and his wife Phyllis of Farmersville, sister Billie Withrow and her husband Don of Savoy, sister Jackie McGee and her husband Jedd of Farmersville, sisters Cynthia Jones of Farmersville and Mickey Hansen of Euless, grandchildren Taelor and Baelee Duckworth, and step-grandchildren Kyle Duke and Colby Coward.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, son James Alva Duckworth II and brothers Paul Edward and Tommy Duckworth.

Jimmy was a retired machinist, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Whitewright and graduated from Blue Ridge High School. He and Ruth Ann have lived in Whitewright for 32 years. Jimmy was past Master and member of the Whitewright Masonic Lodge #167 and in 2013 he received the Golden Trowel Award.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Whitewright. Reverend Frank Rahm will officiate. Masonic services will be held following the memorial service at the Whitewright Masonic Lodge, 101 Pine St. in Whitewright.
