Evert Lee Addington of Savoy, Texas, passed away in his home January 29, 2018. Evert was born December 17, 1929, in Collin County, Texas, to Leroy Thedford Addington and Cordie Etta (Riley) Addington. He married Ernestine (Huber) Addington on September, 20, 1948, in Nevada, Texas. Evert began Addington and Son Wrecking yard in 1960. He loved the wrecking business, and trained his son Delbert in that business. Evert was active in the business until it closed at the end of 2003. He loved his family, and wanted them to come to his house every weekend to spend time together. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Savoy, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ernestine Addington; his son, Delbert Lee Addington and Gracie of Savoy; daughters, Sandy Elaine Childers and Bud of Savoy, Jennifer Rose Talley and Calvin of Savoy, Belinda Gail Bolden and Marty McDonald of Savoy; and daughter-in-law Laura Sue Addington of Sherman, Texas; ten grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; brother Walter Lee Addington and Ida Edmonds of Van Alstyne, Texas; and sister Patsy Cloe of Princeton, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Cordie Addington; his son, Gerald Wayne Addington; three grandchildren, James Lee Childers, Jr., Denise Renee Childers, and Angela Elaine Caldwell; one great-grandson, Dakota Trey Trotter; six brothers and sisters; and one special friend like a granddaughter, Shelly Cox.
His funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 1, 2018, at First Baptist Church Savoy, Texas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Chris Merritt and Brother Bill Sessom. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Climax, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 31,2018 at Mullican-Little Funeral Home in Bells, Texas.
