Ray Adams

Funeral Director

Ray Adams has been serving families with Mullican Little Funeral Home since 2012. He finds deep fulfillment in guiding families through the process of a dignified goodbye and takes pride in meeting their needs with compassion, professionalism, and care. Being asked to serve the same families over time is especially meaningful to Ray and reflects the trust placed in his work.

Ray values the close-knit community of Bells, where long-established families share a strong sense of belonging and integrity. He appreciates the importance placed on education and was honored to serve on the Bells ISD Education Foundation, which recognizes academic excellence among teachers and students. Ray also values the long-standing relationship Mullican Little Funeral Home has with area churches and families.

Ray holds an associate degree in Funeral Service from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service, along with both bachelor’s and master’s degrees. His educational background allows him to connect with people from all walks of life, and he is known for approaching every family with a listening ear and a caring heart.

Ray is married to his wife, Marsha, and they have a son, Luke. He enjoys traveling and discovering new places, but North Texas will always be home. Fishing trips with his son are a favorite pastime, especially on the days when Ray catches the most fish.

Melissa Wortman

Administrative Assistant

Melissa Wortman has been part of Mullican Little Funeral Home since 2019. She believes funeral service is truly her calling and finds purpose in walking alongside families through every step of the grieving process. Melissa takes pride in being a steady presence, helping families put their thoughts into words, ensuring their loved one is treated with dignity and respect, and making the process feel less overwhelming through thoughtful communication and care. Hearing families say she helped make a difficult time easier affirms why she chose this profession.

Melissa values the close-knit nature of the communities she serves, where neighbors wave as they pass and families support one another through life’s challenges. She has built lasting friendships with many of the families she has helped and appreciates seeing the community come together in times of need. Melissa currently lives in Wolfe City and attends Bois D’Arc Creek Cowboy Church in Bonham.

With roots in the funeral profession dating back to her high school years, Melissa brings nearly two decades of experience to her role. She is known for her calm demeanor, attention to detail, compassion, and ability to adapt quickly to new technology. These strengths help ensure families receive seamless support and peace of mind.

Outside of work, Melissa enjoys life with her fiancé, her two daughters, and their cats. She loves cooking for others, spending time outdoors fishing or swimming at the lake, grilling in the backyard, and enjoying family game nights. Fossil hunting, stargazing, and teaching her girls how to spot satellites are some of her favorite ways to slow down and make memories together.
