Cheri Joplin

January 12, 1956 - April 21, 2019

Cheri Renee (Pitcock) Joplin, passed away unexpectedly April 21, 2019. She was born January 12, 1956 to Lum “Buck” Pitcock Jr. and Nannie (McCool) Pitcock.

Cheri was a kind, gentle and caring lady. She worked for ten years at Nathaniel J. Neal Unit, State Prison in Amarillo, Texas. She served in the unit’s commissary as a clerk. She loved her job and especially enjoyed her co-workers. Cheri was a people person and found great satisfaction and joy in helping meet the needs of people. Many people have been helped by her in times of need. She was a caring neighbor and friend. She made the world a better place. She loved her family and she was adored by them. Cheri loved her pet dogs, Disney and Loki. She will be missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Joplin of Ector, Texas; son, Larry G. Joplin Jr. and wife Janie of Amarillo, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; along with many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Joplin; her parents, Buck and Nan Pitcock; daughters, Kelli Collins and Gail Joplin; son, Brian Joplin; and brothers, Richard and Kenneth Pitcock.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 26, 2019 at Mullican-Little Funeral Home, 754 State Hwy 56 East, Bells, Texas 75414. Interment will follow at McDonald Cemetery in Paris, Texas. The family will receive friends for a visitation Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Mullican-Little Funeral Home.     A beautiful soul who has left an immense impact on the world…a legacy of love and service to others. Praying for all who love her. I know she is at peace with her loved ones who have passed before, and has so many sweet pups at her feet! My deepest condolences…I never had the pleasure of meeting her but feel as though I know her through her wonderful daughter, Tammy. I hope to meet her in Heaven one day, it’s obvious what a beautiful person she was, inside and out.
