George Willis Morse was born December 22, 1946 in Carter County, Oklahoma to Willis “Bill” Franklin Morse and Mary Lillian (Biggs) Morse.  He departed this life peacefully at home November 22, 2023 in Bells, Texas after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma.

George was raised in rural Oklahoma and attended Fox High School in Fox, Oklahoma.  He also attended Murray State College and joined the Air Force in 1965.  In the Air Force, George served as an Airman, Crew Chief on a C130 in the Philippines and Vietnam.  After time serving his country George worked for a short time in Oklahoma for Baker Oilfield Construction but decided the oilfield wasn’t for him so moved to Dallas, Texas to work for Cooper Air Motive in 1968, and then later for Powr-Lift.  In 1978 George received a promotion with Powr-Lift that led him to move his family to Bells and back to the country life that he was missing.  George was a member of the Glory Riders and loved a good trail ride with his favorite quarter horse Silver.

George is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Lillian Morse.  He is survived by his daughter, Kristi Morse May of Austin, Texas and son, Kevin Morse and wife, AnnaLisa of Bells; sisters, Virgina “Jenny” Jeffery and husband Silas Sunday of Goldsby, Oklahoma and Lois Jean Martin of Ravia, Oklahoma; three grandchildren Chance Morse, Landan Morse, and William May; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and family members.

A memorial service will be Tuesday November 28, 2023 at Mullican Little Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend David A. Baker officiating. Honorary pallbearers are  Chance Morse, Landan Morse, Will May, Matthew Milam, Philip Milam Sr., Shannon Milam, Willis Jeffrey, Stan Vick, Joe Mitchell, Scotty Reed, and Michael Allen. George’s ashes will be laid to rest next to his parents in Ravia, Oklahoma at a later date.

We cannot adequately thank Jeremy Bellar of Visiting Angels and Heart to Heart Hospice for all of the support and grace shown to George and his family. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made in George’s name to the Multiple Myeloma Foundation //themmrf.org/get-involved/mmrf-events/?campaign=470475
