Helen Genevieve “Genny” Denton Hoover was born October 22, 1931 in Gordonville, Texas to Edward Denton and Hazel Kirby Denton. She passed away peacefully at her home in Denison, Texas on April 22, 2020 at the age of 88 years.

She married Jackye Leroy Hoover in 1948 and they had two sons, Doug and Derald.

She enjoyed a 50 year banking career with Citizens Bank and then Grayson Bank and at last American Bank. After retirement she worked for Eisenhower Birthplace in Denison, Texas where she made many friends.

Genny and her dance partner, Kenneth thoroughly enjoyed the Senior Citizen dance circuit including regular dances at Denison, Sherman, Whitesboro and Bonham. Genny knew everybody and everybody knew her. She cared deeply for people, and was considerate of their needs. She was a faithful member of Park Avenue Church of Christ, Denison.

She is survived by her son, Douglas Denton Hoover of Denison; son, Derald Taylor Hoover and wife Diana of Ft. Worth; boyfriend and dance partner, Kenneth Briscoe; granddaughters, Denise Reese, Cristina Phillips; grandsons, Jackie Horn and Tom Horn; granddaughter, Jamie Newman of Denison; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Mavis Denton Burton of Plano. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Hazel Denton; husband, Jackye Leroy Hoover; sister, Arma Jo Denton Battenfield.

Graveside Services will be held 11AM Monday, April 27, 2020 at Liberty Cemetery, Gordonville, Texas with Todd Catteau, minister of Park Avenue Church of Christ officiating. For those who wish to stay in their cars at the cemetery, parking close to the pavilion will be available. Room is also available in the pavilion for people to bring lawn chairs for seating. Please be courteous and remember due to COVID-19, social distancing guidelines will be observed.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday, April 26, 2020 from 2-4 PM at Mullican-Little Funeral Home.
