March 8, 1922 –  August 8, 2014 SAVOY – Irene Whitlock Freeman, 92, passed from this life into her Heavenly Home on Friday, August 08, 2014 in Savoy, Texas with her family there to give her comfort.
Mrs. Freeman was born March 8, 1922 in Nashville, Tennessee to Wylie and Bertha Meadows. She and her family moved to the Grayson County area of Texas in 1930.

She married Marshall Wayne Whitlock on April 26, 1939 in Utah. Together they reared seven children in the Ambrose Community. After Mr. Whitlock passed away, she married Cullen Freeman in 1989 at Lake Kiowa.

Irene is survived by three sons; Tom Whitlock of Denton, David Whitlock and wife Dianna of Bells and Gary Whitlock and wife Laura of Savoy; two daughters, Martha Russell and husband Jim of Little Elm and Sharon Nowell of Paris, and daughter-in-law Jean Whitlock of Bonham; 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by two sons, James Arthur Whitlock in 1965 and Donald Hugh Whitlock in 2011; two husbands, Marshall Wayne Whitlock in 1987 and Cullen Freeman in 1993; parents; siblings and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Freeman was a wonderful mother to her children, a loving wife to her husbands and a faithful Christian to her Lord. She will be remembered for her positive attitude and loving spirit.

Funeral services are set for 10:30 A.M., Monday, August 11, 2014 at the Mullican-Little Funeral Chapel in Bells/Savoy with Mr. Jeramie Sweet of the Savoy church of Christ officiating. Burial will be along side her other family members at Hebron Cemetery north of Bells. Those serving as Pallbearers for Irene are her three sons, Tom, David, and Gary Whitlock, along with her three grandsons Brent Henslee, Brock Henslee and Richard Stephenson.

Irene’s family will visit with guests from 2:00 P.M.- 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the funeral home. The on-line guest book may be signed at www.mullicanlittle.com.

The service will be streamed on the Internet and can be seen at the funeral home website at the time of the service on Monday.
