James Oliver Owen, 90 years of age, of Denison Texas peacefully left his earthly home after a long and fulfilling life on Tuesday July 25, 2023. Jim was born June 24, 1933 in Dallas to OmaLee and Paul Owen, Sr.
He served in the United States Army after attending Dallas schools, and graduating from North Dallas High school. He met the love of his life, Eva Brittain in first grade. Jim and Eva married on June 16, 1956 at the home of her parents in Dallas. They spent several early years of their marriage in the Metroplex before relocating to their farm in Bells.
Jim valued hard work and family, retiring from Kawneer to raising cattle and bailing hay on their farm, though his priority in life was his family. Jim was a member of the Church of Christ where he was a dedicated member and supporter. Jim spent his life working hard; he enjoyed refurbishing cars and trucks, traveling and camping with Eva, he enjoyed the mountains and the ocean. He loved his family dearly and will never be forgotten.
Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Eva Owen; parents, Paul Sr. and OmaLee Owen; brother Paul Owen Jr.; and sister-in-law Ruth Owen. He is survived by daughter Cindy Moore and husband Joe of Bells, daughter Christina Divers and husband Brian of Anna, grandchildren Grant Moore and wife Amanda of Paris, Lauren Parrish and husband Keton of Bells, Tyler Divers of Melissa, Samantha Divers of Anna, and great grandchildren Laney and Wyatt Moore of Paris.
Funeral Services will be at Central Church of Christ, 601 West Crawford Street Denison, Texas on Saturday July 29, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be at Restland Cemetery 13005 Greenville Avenue Dallas, Texas 75243

I remember Jimmie well. His parents and youngest sister lived next door to my parents in Field City. I remember him as a very kind, easy going person. God’s great comfort to his family at this time of grief.
