Johnny Earl Harrison

December 30, 1941 - September 7, 2022

Johnny Earl Harrison was born December 30, 1941 in Conway, Arkansas to Earl Harrison and Edna F. Pack Harrison. He passed away at his home in Savoy, Texas on September 7, 2022 at the age of 80 years.

Johnny grew up in Wilmot, Arkansas.  He married the love of his life Gabriele “Gabi” Elizabeth Wunsch on August 18, 1999.

Johnny retired from 3M-Harris after over 30 years of service as a repair technician.  After retirement he did woodworking and handyman services.  He was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need.  Johnny was active in the community, serving on the city council and volunteering for Meals on Wheels.  He enjoyed having coffee with his friends at the Savoy Quick Stop. Johnny liked music and dancing and fishing.  He especially loved birdwatching and liked identifying different types of birds that visited his feeder.

Johnny is survived by his three children, daughter, Stephanie Monday of Tyler; sons, Johnny E. Harrison III and wife Allison of Grapevine, and Jeff Harrison and wife Nickie of Sherman; six grandchildren, Sonny Monday and Jason Monday of Tyler, Ian Harrison and McKenna Harrison of Grapevine, and Callahan Harrison and Jake Harrison of Sherman; brothers, Rusty Harrison and wife Bobbye, and Paul Harrison; sisters, Louise McLeod and husband Bill, Barbara Richardson, Paulette Caudle and husband Olen; and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded by his parents; his wife Gabi; and sisters Emma Goggans and Julia Pittman.

A Remembrance Gathering will be held 2-4PM Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Mullican-Little Funeral Home, Bells, Texas.

    Prayers for the family. I had the pleasure of ‘Gabi’ working for me, but then we became ‘good friend, as we shared a love for animals. Through Gabi, I had the pleasure of meeting Johnny. We would meet at the Snap center in Bells,; he was such a good man, and I know he did not feel well, but I never saw him without a smile. They were both special people and he will be missed in the community.

    I just found out about Johnny. Johnny and I started the first grade together at wilmot and graduated together. This last two years we have been talking on FB. You will be in my heart and prayers .

    Johnny is my first cousin and, unfortunately we lost touch through the years. We found each other through Facebook about a year ago. It was so good to hear from him and I thank God for the time we had to catch up. My prayers go out to the family and friends. Rest In Peace, Johnny.

    Johnny Was my neighbor and friend for several years prior to my son Inheriting the place next door to him.. ( Forrest C. Morris). He took care of my young son ( at the time) thru mowing for us (knowing I was on a limited income and had a hard time keeping the mower fed and running), sharing meals (with Gabi’s help), aiding in repairs (hot water heater, plumbing, etc. etc.), sharing his Holly Hocks and Marigold flowers..and just being a Great Neighbor and Friend. Glad you get to be in the Light with Gabi today , see you soon enough! Hugs and Love,
