January 31, 1950 – August 4, 2015 Judy Elaine Taylor Stuever passed away at WNJ Hospital in Sherman on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Judy was born on January 31, 1950 in Leonard, Texas during one of the worst ice storms of the state. Her birth made Texas news because she was delivered by the light of a coal oil lantern. An ambulance had to carry mom and baby home due to the extreme weather conditions.
Judy graduated Valedictorian of her 1968 class at Ector High School. She also graduated from Barbizon School of Modeling. She retired from Southwestern Bell Phone Company in Tyler, Texas. Judy married Joseph Patten “Pat” Stuever on May 26, 1980. She loved sewing and crafting, cooking and good food. She especially loved her dog Pops and cats Foxy and Mama Kitty.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents David M. and Aylene (Dees) Taylor and husband, Pat. She is survived by her sisters: Karen Rose and husband Jerry of McAlester, Oklahoma and Susan Johnson and husband Glenn of Bells; brother Leland Taylor and wife Natalie of Corpus Christi, Texas; aunt, Billie Taylor of Bonham; step children, Tammy Stuever of Colorado and Jeff Stuever of Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Wilson N. Jones Nursing on 2 South and staff for excellent care for Judy and family. Also special thanks to Texoma Healthcare Center during her stay there.
A memorial service is set for 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Mullican-Little Funeral Chapel in Bells.
