July 4, 1936 –  October 9, 2013 Mr. T. J. Lucas fought the good fight and has gone to his eternal home. He was born on the very patriotic holiday of July 4, 1936 in Denison, Texas to parents, Emanuel Mike Lucas and Eunice (Lamb) Lucas. He married his beloved wife, Carol Cearley on November 5, 1982 in Temple, Texas.
T.J. retired after 30 plus years from General Telephone Company. He worked two years for the Howe Police Department, 12 years for the Grayson County Sheriff Department and was employed by Securitas Security Systems until his illness. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church, was a graduate of Denison High School and served his country in the National Guard.

T. J. is survived by his wife, Carol Lucas of Denison; son Johnny Mike Lucas of Ft. Worth, three daughters Sheri Taylor and husband Danny of Denison, Teri Lucas of Denison, and Melanie Raulston of Quinlan; 10 grandchildren: Michael Glen, Keegan Raulston, Autumn Raulston, Jarron Raulston, McKenna Raulston, Matthew Cagle, Gene Cagle, Lucas Sweeney, Brook Kolarcik and Bruce Taylor; and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his four special puppies: Abi, Ellie Mae, Coco and Scooter. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Greek Lucas and sister Minnie Sophia Jackson.

Funeral services for T. J. are under the direction of Mullican-Little Funeral Home in Bells/Savoy and are set for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Southside Baptist Church, Denison with Reverend Keith Taylor officiating. Burial will be at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman after the church service. The family will visit with friends from 1-2 P.M. at the church, which is one hour prior to the service. Those serving as Pallbearers for T. J. are Gus Hatsell, Raymond Brown, Randy Daniel, Ronnie Riddle, Danny Taylor and Larry Little, his grandchildren will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

The family gives a special thank you for prayers, love, caring and giving by his Drs., Carson, Barker, Faridi, Heffernan, Zurquat and Reddy; his nurses at Oncology Clinic, W.N.J., T.M.C., and special gratitude for the nurses that worked the night shift and took great care of him. Also much thanks is given to his Southside Church family.
