October 27, 1924 –  October 15, 2011 Willie C. (Bill) Pointer was born in Bells, TX the son of Lonnie Bill & Mattie Byrd Pointer. He graduated brom Bells High School in 1942 and was a member of the football team. He was active in the Boy Scouts as a youth and later as Scout Master of Bells Troop for 5 years. He married Jacqueline Howdeshell on August 21, 1943 at the Bell First Baptist Church by the Rev. Odie R. Carry. While helping his wife raise their family and working full time he attended Austin College, East Texas State University, and the University of Dallas where he earned his Master’s Degree. He worked for Mrs. Tucker Foods for 15 years, then worked for Texas Instruments both in Dallas and Sherman where he retired after 291/2 years. Willie served as president of the Industrial Engineers, Chapter 181 in 1980-81 and received the Gavel AIIE President’s Award from Texoma Chapter 181. He was a Member of Emmaus, Eastern Star serving as Past Worthy Patron of Bells Chapter #1110, Order of Eastern Star in Bells and Past Worthy Patron of Carpenters Chapter 183 Order of the Eastern Star in Sherman, TX. He was a Member and served as Past President of the North Texas Shrine Club, Member & Past President of Grayson County Scottish Rite, and was a 32nd Degree Mason. he earned and was awarded the Golden Trowel Award from the Grand Lodge of Texas in 1993 at the Lodge in Bells.
