We are celebrating the life of Renee Johnson. Renee was born in Amherst, Texas on April 3, 1965, to Gene and Joan (Stanley) Boone. She married James Johnson on June 30, 1990. Together, they raised her two children, Hassan Al-Rabbat and Sabah Edwards. She died December 18, 2024.
Renee is survived by her mother, Joan Shaw of Bells, Texas; children, Hassan Al-Rabbat of Chetopa, Kansas and Sabah Edwards and husband, Darin of Oak Harbor, Washington; along with brother, Dennis Stanley; sisters, Alice Williams, Sharon Dyer, Kay Avers, and Angela Boone. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Trinity Scrivo and husband Devyn, Natalie Al-Rabbat, Ronan Al-Rabbat, Sicily Al-Rabbat and one great grandson, Roper Al-Rabbat and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Johnson and stepfather, Dan Shaw.
She was a masseuse and a home care giver. Renee was a free spirit, a gypsy of life. She loved life and made her own rules. She did what she wanted, when she wanted. “No bra” was her motto. She loved to travel, had a passion for World War II history, dining out, cooking for family and friends, and top free driving (yeah, that!). She loved her family and friends and was always there to help. Her wit and humor brightened your day. When asked what clothes that she should be buried in…she suggested a sun dress with a bottle of Patron between her boobs!

I had the pleasure to work with Renee for several years. She loved her coffee or Expresso. Sometimes I would surprise her with Expresso in the morning when we opened the store together. She would light up like a light bulb. Her happiness was infectious. She was a wonderful person and I felt blessed to have known her. Rest in peace my friend.
