Rev. Johnny Morris Martin, age 95, of Bonham, Texas, passed away on April 16, 2026. Johnny was born on July 22, 1930 in Leonard, Texas to Roscoe and Minnie (Howard) Martin.

He met his lifelong partner, Frances J. Martin, and they were married in 1951. Soon after, he was drafted into the Korean War, where he served as an ambulance driver. Upon returning home, Rev. Martin answered his call to ministry. He served his community through hospitals, prisons, and personal homes, becoming well known in the Bonham community. In 1995, when the first prison was built in Bonham, Rev. Martin became a pioneer in introducing the Ministry program. His dedication and service to the community in Fannin County led to him being presented with a key to the city of Bonham from Mayor Roy Floyd.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Frances J. Martin, to whom he was married for 63 years; his daughter, Vivian Rollins; his granddaughter, Stacy Kissinger; his parents, Roscoe Martin and Minnie Martin; and 13 siblings.

He is survived by daughters, Charlene Hayes and husband Richie, and Darlene Baker and husband James; grandchildren: Jason Degele, Sabrina Ball, Michelle Pack, Leann Baker, Greg Degele, Lance Baker, & Tiffany Pankonein; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Living Word Church of God 699 US Hwy 82 Bonham, Texas 75418. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Whitewright, Texas.
