Barbara Durr Johnson

Barbara Durr Johnson departed this life on Monday, April 19, 2021 in Plano, Texas at the age of 78. She was born in Natchitoches, Louisiana on December 23, 1942 to U.V. “Dick” Durr and Lucille (Prothro) Durr. Barbara graduated from Natchitoches High School in 1960 and attended Northwestern State University and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts Degree from LSU New Orleans. While living in Houston, Texas she received a Master’s Degree in Social Services from the University of Texas. Her life long career was as a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW). She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Norman Johnson; her brother, James “Jamie” Durr. She is survived by her sisters, Elaine Durr Sexton of Bossier City, Louisiana, Janet Durr Warford of Whitewright, Texas and Diane Durr Rolin of Melissa, Texas; nephews, Mike Collins of Denver, Colorado, Todd Warford and wife Susan of Hallsville, Texas, Kurt Warford and wife Amber of Whitewright, Texas, Philip Durr and wife Shawna of Natchitoches, Louisiana; nieces, Vicki Collins Mulae and husband Joe of Prosper, Texas, and Tracy Durr Brown and husband Randy of Keller, Texas. A graveside service will be held for the family and friends on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 2:00PM at Beluah Cemetery 2279 Highway 487 Marthaville, LA 71450. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity.
