Christaphor Dean Roberts of Bells, Texas passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the age of 54. He was born November 4, 1964 in Rotan, Texas to Earnest Dean Roberts and Kathy Julene (Ivey) Roberts. Dean was a graduate of Sweetwater H.S. in 1983. He went on to graduate from Texas A&M Commerce with a bachelor’s degree in Math Education in 2014. He taught and coached in Fannidel, Coolidge, Savoy and Ranger. He was a loving husband and proud father. He was a passionate coach who found great satisfaction in working with young people. Dean especially loved umpiring baseball and softball games, he was a scout master, enjoyed farming and raising animals. Dean is survived by his wife Susan of Bells, Texas; his children, son Jared Roberts and wife Allison of Lubbock, Texas, daughter Ashleigh Hyatt and husband Terry of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and son Justin Roberts of Bells, Texas; father Earnest Roberts and wife Gaynell of Sweetwater, Texas, mother, Kathy Roberts of San Angelo, Texas; brother Brad Roberts of Sweetwater, Texas; sister, Cinnamon Roberts of Prosper, Texas; sister, Tiffany Doty and husband Jeff of San Angelo, Texas as well as his beloved extended family. A memorial service will be held at Mullican Little Funeral Home, 754 State Hwy 56 East, Bells, Texas 75414, Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. A register book can be signed at www.mullicanlittle.com In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the American Heart Assocication.

  1. You truly were an absolute amazing man!! I took such pride in being able to tell everyone that you were my big brother for as long as I can remember! In school you were the smartest person I knew! Football you were the meanest! Powerlifting you were the strongest! I looked up to you always! And as you grew up, me looking up to you didn’t change!! I just found new and exciting things that you were awesome at! From being a husband, to dad, to coach but my favorite was chicken raiser!!! You knew everything there was to know about them!!! You were my own personal chicken whisper!! I am going to miss you so much but I find a tremendous amount of joy and peace knowing you are in heaven! I can hear Jesus telling you “welcome home my good and faithful servant”! I’ve always known how special you are and it warms my heart to see all the people that knew the same thing about you!! You have left an amazing legacy and I’m still so proud to be able to call you my big brother!! I love you Chrissy Dean ? tell Cody that I love and miss him!! I can only imagine the softball game you are getting together!!! I’m rooting for your team…still!!

  2. What a great guy. Dean-O was a great friend and good man. I loved his fire and competitiveness in sports. I have so many good memories of pee wee football, baseball and basketball that included Dean. Your loss was a total shock to me and hit me hard. He will be missed. My prayers are with all of you because I knew what he meant to the family. Let me know if there’s anything I can do.

  15. Dean umpired most of our oldest daughter’s Dixie and high school softball games. She enjoyed him behind the plate because he always explained his calls and complimented her level of play. As a Dixie district director, I appreciated the time he gave to help our youth. He volunteered every year to teach the umpire clinic for our Dixie umpires. He loved to laugh and make us laugh with him. He will truly be missed.

    I am late, very late seeing this. We LOVED Dean!! I especially enjoyed giving him a hard time when he called the kids games. He always ended up making me leave the game by saying “Now Ms.Stone you know what time it is. ” I would nod my head yes, and go to the outfield fence usually with my friend Susie or April.
