Linda Lee Holman

Linda Lee (Avants) Holman passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025 in Denison, Texas at the age of 85. She was the oldest child born to Hubert E. and Nathalie K. (Riedlinger) Avants on September 25, 1939 in Metaire, Louisiana. Linda was a former Supervisory Contracting Officer in New Orleans at Naval Support Activity, a job that she enjoyed. Because of her deep roots in Louisiana, she really loved Mardi Gras and all of its activities. Her greatest joy was her family and she absolutely cherished her grandchildren. She was quite an adventurer with them, riding roller coasters and parasailing. Linda loved water and enjoyed life on the lake. She absolutely loved animals, many times rescuing them and providing a home and a safe haven. Linda was a painter and a crossword queen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert “Ray” Holman; her parents, Hubert and Nathalie Avants; sister, Merlyn Cruze; and son, Gregory Alexander. She is survived by her daughter in law, Elisa Alexander; grandchildren, Nathalie Valdez and husband Jose, Nicholas Alexander; great grandchildren, Kovu and Kion Valdez; along with an extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
