Nancy Virnell Patterson

Nancy Virnell Patterson was born on July 14, 1962 in Bonham, Texas to Orville Clayton Dodson and Ruth Virnell May Dodson. She entered into rest on March 9, 2020 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Patterson and her father. Nancy is survived by her son, Bill Dodson; her cousin, Nancy Logan and husband Robert; mother, Ruth Virnell Dodson; along with numerous family and friends. Nancy was a loving and devoted mother. She was a Christian and was a member of First Baptist Church, Sherman and attended the First Life West. Her favorite Bible passage was Psalm 23. She married Ross Lee Patterson on December 19, 1994 in Sherman, Texas and enjoyed 16 years together before his death on July 25, 2011. Nancy was a proud American whose patriotism was well known. Nancy loved spending time with her family and thoroughly enjoyed puzzles She had a variety of jobs in her career. Nancy and her husband Ross were carriers for the Herald Democrat for six years. She loved throwing the newspaper. Nancy was also the head cook at Braum’s in Sherman, Texas. She was a Greyhound bus driver at one time. Nancy will be dearly missed by family and friends; her life and memory will be forever in their hearts. Services are pending at Dallas/ Fort Worth National Cemetery.
