Ok so sorry I wasn’t able to come to the visitation. Shirlene was a long-time neighbor and friend who literally introduced me to many, many Texas expressions. When we moved from next door to her and Pete I was fresh from Illinois and could barely understand what people were saying. One day she said what I thought was, “let’s go grass-sailing”. Turns out she said “garage-sailing” which I soon discovered meant going to garage sales!! Her humor and zest for life will be greatly missed.
