June 20, 1917 –  September 26, 2015 A.L. “Son” Isom passed away on September 26, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Full Masonic funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Mullican Little Funeral Home. Graveside will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Pastor Steve Martinez will officiate the services. Family night will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Mullican Little Funeral Home.Son was born on June 20, 1917 to John C. and Bessie Moore Isom at Calimus Flatt.
He married Martha “Schlatz” Watson on December 24, 1938.
Son attended schools in Bells and Denison. He retired from Quaker Oats after 27 years of service. He also served as a member of the Bells Masonic Lodge, Bells Voluntary Fire Department and First United Methodist Church of Bells. He served 14 years on Bells City Council and 18 years as Mayor of Bells.
Son is survived by his daughter, Dolores Pell of Bells; son, Joe Isom and wife, Sue, of Savoy. Five grandchildren, Twylia Pell; Kenny Pell; Jody Isom; Anissa Isom; Krista Isom. Four great-grandchildren, Matthew Pell, Zack Pell; Tanner Pell; Sierra Pell. Two great-great grandchildren, Annie Pell; Carly Pell. There are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John C. and Bessie Isom; wife of 39 years, Martha; two brothers and one sister.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Mullican Care Center and Hospice Plus who cared for him over the past year.
