August 20, 1925 –  September 29, 2010 Lee Francis went to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, September 29th, 2010. His service will be conducted by Pastor Houston Garner, of Hebron Baptist Church, at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 2nd at Rosehill Cemetery in Bells, Texas.
Lee was born in Bells in August 1925, the son of Jim and Alphia Yeary Francis. He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Lee was a Prisoner of War while serving in the army during World War II. Upon his return from service he married Dorothy Brown on 16 June 1945 in Durant, Oklahoma. This loving 66-year union produced two children, Alvin Francis and Nancy Francis (Herrmann), two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Lee served in the National Park Service from 1964 to 1984. He enjoyed traveling and in his later years he and Dorothy took many trips all around the country traveling with good friends. Lee served as a deacon of Hebron Baptist Church since 1987.

In talking about Lee, it wouldn’t be right to leave out a mention of “fishing”, which everyone knows was his great passion. Lee spent many hours with his long-time friend Clarence Davis and others.

Lee’s zest for life, compassion, and fun times were all products of his love for the Lord, Jesus Christ. His faith was ever present and his family, including brother-in-law Claude Propeck, many nieces, nephews and friends are already looking forward to their reunion in heaven.
