October 13, 1921 – May 31, 2011 Reverend Alvie Fletcher graduated from East Texas Baptist College and began a preaching career that would last for 40 years. He pastored churches through-out North Texas retiring in 1996 from Ambrose Baptist Church. He proudly served his country druing WW II as radio operator and gunner, flying missions in a B-25 bomber. Rev. Fletcher was also a machinist mechanic for Johnson & Johnson for many years. He was an avid collector of fossils, mineral and Indian artifacts. For a time he was very active with the Texoma Rockhounds, even taking his collection into area schools as an educational tool for the students. He wrote poetry, loved gardening, enjoyed oil painting and was also a substitute school teacher. He lived life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
