Bertha Annitte McCannon passed away peacefully on September 6, 2023 in Plano, Texas at the age of 64. She was born to Walter Eugene and Lartharee (Woodson) McCannon on June 11, 1959 in McKinney, Texas.
She loved her family, she was a special babysitter for her nephews and nieces. Bertha taught them how to read, color (inside the lines), their alphabet and numbers before entering school. Countless hours were invested by Bertha in reading Bible stories to them as she taught them about Jesus.
She was an ardent Christian who loved the Lord and her church family. Bertha read her Bible lesson daily and if she got stumped on how to pronounce a Bible name, or had a Bible question: she called her former Pastor James Seigler.
She was a unique lady with a sweet spirit and her love touched so many people.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Eugene McCannon; brother in laws, Mike Steedman and David Sisemore.
Bertha is survived by her mother, Lartharee McCannon; sisters, Nelda Steedman, Kathey Sisemore, Loretha Walker and husband Joe; nieces, Angela Wardlow and husband Keith, Cynthia LaFoy and husband Chad, Charla Tedder and husband Dave; nephews, Chris Walker and wife Amberly, James Walker and wife Stefanie, Jeremy Sisemore and wife Kristi, Jeffery Sisemore, Christy Hartman and husband Billy; along with 16 great nieces and nephews.
Donations can be made to the First Baptist Church, Savoy youth building in her name.
