Billie Taylor was born east of Pecan Gap, Texas to Loid and Lilly (Lincoln) Perkins on March 10, 1931. She is a fourth cousin to Abraham Lincoln. She is the second of four children and the oldest daughter. She attended Durham schools in Hunt County.
She loved taking care of the smaller kids at school and dreamed of becoming a schoolteacher. She married Vernon Taylor December 6, 1947 and made their home near Fairlee. In 1952 they moved to Fannin County and settled in Edhube community.
Billie was a homemaker on the farm for many years while raising the kids, gardening, canning, and preserving farm-grown meat. She supported Vernon in his dairy, raising cattle, and raising cotton and grain. Billie worked at Bonham Manufacturing a short time and later worked as an inspector at Texas Tag in Wolfe City for ten years. After they both were retired, they moved to Bells in 1999. Vernon passed away in 2006. She has been a member of the Ector Church of Christ for about 70 years. She moved into Woodmoore Assisted Living in January 2012. Her favorite colors were red and turquoise. She enjoyed visiting with people and was a social butterfly. Billie loved exercise and walking. She was an avid reader, especially romance novels. At Woodmoore, she looked forward to crafts, playing bingo, fundraising for Women Rock, and reminiscing about old times with family and sitting outside enjoying the warmth. She would tell you that she loves her family more than anything.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Loid and Lilly Perkins; husband, Vernon M. Taylor; brother, Melvin Perkins; sister, Betty J. Shelton; and son in law, Gene W. Keen.
She is survived by her children, Shirley Keen of Bonham, Morris Taylor and wife Lou Ann of Ector, and Joyce Morris and husband Roger of Ector. She has been blessed with five grandchildren, Travis Keen, Teresa Wilder and husband Damon, Benjamin Taylor and wife Katy, Jared Richardson, Jeff Morris and wife Ashley; and one great grandchild, Jaylee L. Morris; sister, Della White; along with a large extended family.
The family expresses gratitude to Woodmoore Assisted Living, TMC Bonham Swing Bed Unit, and Seven Oaks Nursing Home for their excellent care and compassion for our mom.

Sending you our love and warm thoughts in this difficult time.
Billie was a beautiful lady. She was so kind and welcoming to my mother, Jo, when she moved to The Woodmoore. They were more than friends, as they shared a special bond as Christian sisters. It was so sad when Billie had to move, and mother has missed her so much. Billie was so endearing, and she continued to be a social butterfly. Our love, prayers and sympathy for all the family.

The kindest, most loving Christian lady I have ever known.she will be dearly missed every day of my life.
God blessed me with a wonderful mother-in-law. Billie treated me like a daughter and she was an absolute jewel. She was one of the kindest persons I’ve ever met. Her love of the Lord shined brightly in everything she said and did.
She always had a kind word and a smile for everyone, friend or stranger. Strangers quickly became friends as she greeted all with a welcoming smile, thoughtful gestures, and kind words.
I am truly blessed to have been touched by Billie’s love and grace.
My thoughts and prayers are with each one of you as you are going through this loss. Prayers for peace and comfort to all.
