August 10, 1928 – June 7, 2015 Charlsie Renfro was born August 10, 1928 to Jess and Murl Clinkscales Marlin on a farm in Elmer, Oklahoma. At a young age her family moved to Dodd City, Texas where she was raised on a farm with her siblings. She had started school in Elmer but graduated from Dodd City High School in 1946. It is in Dodd City where she me Kenneth Wayne Renfro and they were married on January 14, 1947. She and Kenneth bought a sewing machine and vacuum cleaner business in Bonham, Texas in 1954. The business was Renfro Sewing Machine and Vacuum Sales and Service. She and Kenneth ran the business until Kenneth’s death in 1999 and Charlsie took over and operated it until 2012 when her health started to decline. Charlsie was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club where she was Woman of the year from 1987 until 1988. Charlsie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bonham where she helped with the MYF and taught Sunday school for many years.
On Sunday, June 7, 2015 Charlsie went to be with her Lord with her son Larry and his wife Donna at her side. A Celebration of Charlsie’s life will be at 2:00PM Friday, June 12, 2015 at Mullican-Little Funeral Chapel in Bells/Savoy, Texas. Reverend Dee Norton of the Ector First United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Dodd City Cemetery.
Charlsie is survived by her son Larry Renfro and his wife Donna of Sherman, brother Ray Marlin of Ft. Worth, sisters Kay Long and her husband Dwaine of Sharon, OK and Mary Holt of Sedgwick, Kansas, sisters-in-law Pauline Campbell of Grand Prairie and Laverna Verheyden of Jacksonville, TX, grandchildren Stephen and Pam Russell and Sarah and Ryan Martinez, and great grandchild Claire Martinez, also numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Martinez, Stephen Russell, Frank Meacham, Tim Hirschler, Dana Campbell and Ron Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be the Fellowship Class of the First United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends and family from 6:00PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
